A little rain wasn't going to deter the people of Disley! December 6th 2016 saw hundreds of people turn out for the Disley Tree Lighting on the Ram Green, outside the Rams Head Pub, Disley. Phil the Butcher kept us all fed, as did Lyme Perk and various other eateries. The many pubs were open and serving drinks to the masses. Santa showed up on his sleigh and lots of eager children got to discuss their wish lists with the main man himself! Dame Sarah Storey was our very Special Guest of Honour and it was lovely to meet her and her gorgeous daughter. Sarah is the most decorated paralympian in Great Britain's history and although I regularly see her cycling past my house, I thought it might be inappropriate to run out and shove a camera in her face which is why I left it til I was asked to take her photograph at this official event ;)!! (I'm sure Sarah is most appreciative of this fact - haha). The magnificent firework display was enjoyed by all especiallly whilst stood outside Frankies Wine Bar... which is where I ended my rather lengthy photographic journey of photos with Santa at the Disley School Fair followed by these documentary style images for Disley Parish Council and Disley Business Group. My husband very kindly popped my camera equipment back home and I joined my friends for a much needed Vodka and Tonic, or two ;)
Disley is a great place to live and work and the community spirit always shines through when families and friends gather at events like these! Cheers!!
